Network Security
Network security is a rapidly
growing segment of the IT manager's responsibility. A
comprehensive understanding of the physical network, installed
hardware, software applications and the processes, procedures and
policies in place is necessary to understand the network and
recognize its vulnerabilities.
Organizations are now required to
secure sensitive client and employee data including social
security numbers and date of birth information.
Proprietary company data including financial records, email
communications, process and procedure documents are invaluable
assets that could cause damaging losses should they end up in the
wrong hands.
Our Security Audit procedures
comprise interviews with the organization's IT personnel and network
users, reviews of existing policies and documentation, detailed
inventory of hardware and software applications in use, and
evaluation of the overall system configurations.
We provide a detailed report
that includes an overview of the network, identification of
vulnerabilities and recommendations for actions necessary to secure
the network. Detailed inventories for each computer include
specifics regarding its model and serial numbers, installed OS,
processor speed, memory size, installed applications and service
patches, shared folders, hardware components, current user and
vulnerabilities specific to that machine.
The report includes a glossary of
terms, and a detailed network diagram as shown below. With this
information in hand business can intelligently address security
issues and maintain safe networks.
